The dust has now settled on our recent Blackburn Hawks ‘Armed Forces Night’ in support of our Armed Forces Veterans and their families through the Hawks in the Community Initiative supporting Healthier Heroes CiC.

The night itself was huge success thanks to all the supporters who attending (including the fans from Billingham who really helped make it a great night) and in addition to the funds raised by the Blackburn Hawks Raffle, further support for the Healthier Heroes has very kindly been provided by DEPHER CiC and The Mailing Room bringing the donations upto just short of £23,000!!!

DEPHER CiC, Co-Founder James Anderson, commented on their support and donation of £10,000

The kind and generous donations that have been made it will enable us to continue our work and pay for many months of gas and electric bills for Bancroft house that we run to support Homeless Veterans that have served our country.

From the bottom of our hearts we thank you and we also salute you’

Hawks Co-Owner, Carl Everitt commented:

‘What a truly humbling experience it was on Saturday, to see everyone come together for our Armed Forces Night, where we all got together as a community to support a great cause, pay respects to the fallen and support our living veterans & their families. The efforts from our incredible volunteers/guests and Jersey Sponsors Dunamis Sports was incredible, not to mention the valiant effort by the Hawks Players on the ice.

To be approached on the night by businessmen, wanting to further support the cause, Hawks Community Partner, Healthier Heroes was overwhelming and just proved that their are so many great people in this world and if we all get together we can achieve almost anything.

I would like to thank every single person who attended and supported our event, you have really made a difference, each and every one of you.’
